I've Got Rhythm (In at least one area of my life)

I can't dance. Really. I WANT to be able to dance and have thought about taking lessons, but at this point it seems like my self-consciousness overrides my desire. My husband can't dance either. As I write this, "can't" seems like such an odd word to use. I mean, anyone CAN dance, right? So what's my problem?

RHYTHM. I lack rhythm. Let me paint the picture. Do you remember the Seinfeld episode where Elaine was dancing? Never saw it? Go look it up. I'll wait.

OK, maybe I'm not that bad.. But that's how I picture myself.  (LOL, I just looked it up...it's hilarious- even if you remember it, go watch it again.)

But I do have rhythm in another area of my life: Eating. Intermittent Fasting provides an eating rhythm to my day. As an Intermittent Fasting Coach, I have seen this rhythm completely re-shape women's lives and their bodies. Let me walk you through my day of eating. This won't take long.

I get up early/have black coffee.
Throughout my day I drink at least 1/2 my body weight in ounces of plain water (sometimes I add unflavored minerals).
Nothing with flavor gets past my lips until I start eating.
At 4 pm I have a highly nutritious green smoothie with about 3 packed cups of kale + flaxseed, lemon juice, water and frozen fruit.
Between 5 and 6 pm, I have a large meal that includes protein, carbs, fats  and lots of vegetables.
By 7 pm I have a protein shake (mmmmm, chocolate and PB).
And.... I'm done eating.
My rhythm is 21/3. I fast for 21 hours and eat for 3 hours.

Go ahead, ask the question:
Aren't you STARVING throughout the day?
Nope.
But I also moved to this 3 hour timeframe of eating gradually. I started with an 8 hour "window" of eating and slowly shaved off an hour here and there. My body has adjusted. I have more energy now than I did even 5 years ago. My weight has stabilized, but my body continues to be re-shaped.

But there's more to this than just the weight loss:

  • It's not complicated. No counting anything.

  • It takes the focus off of food. If I want it, I have it in my window of eating. I don't sit and think about food all day.

  • I have complete food freedom- no guilt/no shame.

  • Food and I are friends again.

  • Food doesn't rule me.

  • I save money (no doubt about it, I am eating less)

  • Increased energy.

  • Cancer and chronic disease prevention (ask me about Autophagy!)

  • Amazing muscle building (also due to Autophagy)

  • One downside is that you're going to draw a lot of attention. Everyone will want to know what you're doing!

Fasting allows for a rhythm throughout your day. Let me help you find your rhythm.
